My Migration Experience :

My migration Experience in 2023:

Here we need to go through an introduction to make things more clear before starting the personal story

Generally speaking, if you have read other sections of this website then you would not be surprised to read this section either . In various context I will explain that of all problems that Canada has then these are more prominent than others :

1- Lots of bureaucracy and rules and regulation .This includes also the academic and trade schools that have barrage of requirements including certificates ,being member of specific organization , countless hours of internship on top of your graduate or undergraduate degrees, and also trade schools suffer from same problem . Specially police states that you can face criminal charges for almost anything you do as a human being

2- Culture of police state that teaches people from young age to do policing on each other

3- Criminalizing society by numerous laws that politicians design to punish people for almost anything a normal human can do

4- The dominance of UK on Canada politics by concept of Royal Assent and fact that Head of State in Canada is British person either at a time it was Queen Elizabeth II (now dead ) or King Charles

5- Pervasive issues in system of politics when running the country in federal format

6- The political power in the hands of Caucasian people . This looks like almost impossible barrier to break through and sadly politics controls every aspect of your life as a migrant . I will explain these problem deeper when the time comes .But here wanted to give you a general idea

Unfortunately, Canada is going down a very irreversible deep ,dark path ,and if we look from the above barely there is a way to get out of this mouse maze . A serious of :

Mismanagement

Wasting tax money

Racial issues that Canada does not want to address and resolve

Corruption

Power of lobbying and corporations

Lack of Political Will to address Canadian issues and more being populist politicians than solving Canada issues among politicians

And reliance of Canada on US for its economy

And generally speaking the whole system of representative democracy in the way that designed in Canada is very dysfunctional and defected.

Politics controls every aspect of Canadians yet majority of people are too apathetic to mobilize and do something about it . Keep in the mind that we as migrants (people of color ) do not have that much political power in this country . And power is everything ,I mean either political power or racial power in terms of population dominance over Caucasian populace .

Here is my experience:

My experience will look like a diary ,but an eye- opening one that can show you hardship immigrant can face .
I will bring out more of my personal experience related to 2023 and previous years as well.
Please read Archives as they have more news and also my past stories of hardship.
My experience includes pervasive issues that I have faced in this country after more than a decade of living in this country .
I will split the hardship content and story of difficulties that I faced into different sections .
If a story relates to a friend of family I will add them as well . As I mentioned this content will be managed by
I and several other of my friends with consideration of the fact that my friend’s free time has impact on
level of their engagement on this website .

The story is first- hand experience and sheds light on a lot of hardship that migrants of color face in Canada .
The systemic issues including racism, discrimination and injustice have been ongoing for a long time
and it does not belong to my own personal experience at all .
In expressing this hardship I will try to keep strong privacy since in Canada freedom of speech has been under attack for decades in various shapes and forms .So I try to change the nature of story that does not divulge my exact identity . Everything I say I have document to prove but it will divulge my identity otherwise I would put them on website . Racism and discrimination have 2 forms :

1-Overt racism and discrimination
2-Covert /systemic racism and discrimination

In Canada large portion of racism is covert and systemic ,including in housing ,employment ,schools and private sector .
Businesses and government have good knowledge of laws against racism so they try to go around them with new trick
and smartest tactic overtime It is extremely hard to prove covert racism and discrimination . Basically racism
and discrimination is extremely under reported due to this reason .But also the fact that reporting
these issues have some social consequences including the retaliation of perpetrators that can be done to person who submitted the complaint
or report . Almost 99% of what you see and hear in media about Canada is not true and this website is here to debunk all of them mostly for altruistic reason. I will also explain lots of issues in the country that can inflict hardship on anyone regardless of race and identity,
but because racism can be very complex then these issues can target people of color and migrants even harder .
Here is my story of 2023 Issues that I have faced:
For this experience, I have to mask my identity in the story in order to be safe due to lack of liberty and free speech in Canada

University experience:

I applied for a university program and I had an extremely good application .The program lacked a good advisor and website did not provide proper information . After almost a year my application rejected citing the unclear and vague reasons and I did my best effort to stand for myself and it was not possible to solve this issue .Although my application had all merits to be accepted .I am sure that my race also was involved . And I had extremely good reasons as defendant on this case but most government agencies are so broken that injustice is very pervasive and in this case no government agency was helpful at all. I could not push through my application and get entry to university program successfully . Basically, universities in Canada became money-making business, and I would confidently claim that more than 60 to 70 percent of majors and disciplines in university has no future in employment market and it includes colleges too. Universities and colleges are considered business entity or corporation that need to meet certain quota otherwise they will be closed if they cannot meet this quota persistently . So for whole university administration is attracting more student to university matter .At least in undergrad programs which you can see 200 students in the classroom comparing to dozens in PHD or Master’s . Canada has one of the top 10 most expensive universities in world and this includes domestic students tuition fees and personal expenses as well. International students are in extreme hardship if they want to finance their own tuition and expenses .For them it is 5 times more expensive to study any major or discipline in Canada .

Hospital experience:

After several years I had a surgery to be done in hospital .First thing you need to know is that healthcare system in Canada is extremely broken and has failed . That has gave excuse to hospital staff to abuse this and make an excuse over the neglect and abuse that they inflict upon the patients .That was case for me too. I was neglected in the hospital and I had a health problem that could easily kill me . But nurses intentionally ignored my issue in emergency department . Of all the healthcare system this emergency department is more failed and broken . After a day waiting and keep getting painkillers I was directed to surgery room . And even before stepping to actual surgery room ,my hospital stretcher was left for more than hour behind the surgery door while I was laying on it .And I was promised that doctor will come for 1 hour and half that delay almost it frustrated the hospital staff as well.

Rental experience Everything you see in other sections of website has impact on personal lives of you and also me and any other person of color also known as immigrants . So extremely expensive housing prices also has impact on jacking up rental prices and make rentals unaffordable So in this case rentals become extremely unaffordable and after pandemic landlords become more hostile and aggressive to push costs to tenant .Recently my landlord even filled out the form for rental increase for maintenance that he has enough money to cover but he pushes the costs to me .It is mega landlord owning hundreds of building across the country . And basically the company falsified the documents to push costs to me and other tenants in the building . The Provincial government gets more aggressive in passing the laws that are pro landlord and against tenants . Important!!! One thing you must keep in mind is that politicians with one simple legislation can devastate lives of migrants and ordinary white people as well. Random attack Racial hate in streets random attack I have experienced random hate crime which was mostly insult and 1 case of death threat based on my racial ethnicity .

Workplace experience:

Workplace is one of the worst places to inflict harm on employees mental and physical well being in Canada .That can be done in various ways .This includes : Discriminatory hiring process Lack of good employment laws that protect workers Low wages and too many demands for the job (most jobs are like this) Discriminatory practices by managers and coworkers Toxic workplaces Bad management No work-life balance I am a graduate and have several degrees, but still I had to study and get more degrees since employment market is terrible in Canada ,specially for immigrants .Still after a decade this trend had huge impact on my life . Jobs, due to nature of capitalist economy, are unstable in Canada and you must keep in mind that forming a family or protecting your family from falling apart is very hard if not impossible .Imagine our frequently lose your jobs and this will have impact in your marriage or even forming a family because of not having stable income . Losing job is very easy in Canada than getting one .In employment laws employer can fire you with no cause or any specific reason .Also layoffs and firing can happen due to economic downturn and recession that leads to companies tanking . Also in first 3 months of your employment you can lose your job which is called a probationary period when employer tests your ability to do the job . The discriminatory practices are a top up benefit (in bitter sarcastic sense) that you get as migrant .I still need to do following to be able to get an interview let alone the job itself . For example: Changing my name on resume to look like a North American name .Or I do not mention my experience outside of Canada or my degree overseas. In Canada most of your degree and experience and even your driver’s license would not be accepted . Even if your credentials are accepted still when you show them on your resume that shows you do not have Canadian degree or experience then HR will not hire you. I am myself having both Canadian degree and Canadian experience and still I am working an odd job.
